Stephenie is Voted off "Survivor." So Long to the Last Ulong

Posted by Fara Kearnes at 4:29 PM | | Comments ( 1 )

Steph LagrossaThe tribe has spoken and the mighty have fallen. The invincible Survivor: Palau player Stephenie LaGrossa, the last Ulong member left in the game, failed to win the immunity she needed, and was soundly and unanimously voted off by her old rival, the evil tribe Koror.

Well, phooey. The 25-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep from Philadelphia said of her vanquished torch and long run: "I was outnumbered by an entire tribe. I'm actually really proud." She didn't mention that she was out-coconut tossed, and out-knifed in the back, but that's the reason she's a gonner. She lost any hope for immunity and was subject to the groupthink mentality that saw her as a threat to the micro island society.

And yet ... even though Steph was the 12th castaway voted out of Survivor Palau, she will now serve on the Jury that will ultimately decide who wins the title of Sole Survivor. Oooo, pay back time is gonna be a bitch!

Stephenie Rocks! Survives "Survivor" Challenge - Again!

Posted by Fara Kearnes at 3:30 PM | | Comments ( 1 )

StephenieThanks to Janu making a stunning personal sacrifice and quitting the game -- "Survivor" player Stephenie once again outwitted and outlasted another nail-biting tribal challenge. Or was Janu talked into giving up by host Jeff??

Next week, Stephenie may lead the other women in a 4 chicks-to-3 studs revolt on the island and pick off the males one by one. Because it's obvious that the only way one of these women will win is if they band together and vote Tom off the island ASAP.

Once that happens, then it's anyone's pot of gold to win and I think the other three vapid chicks know that. (The three together couldn't come up with a personality.) It will be up to Steph to win Immunity and make the others her bitches if she wants to stay and play.
, It was obvious Janu would have been out soon anyway because she was weak, tired, and couldn't care less. So her decision to quit, knowing the others were scheming to vote off Steph, was a bit of classy revenge on them. Too bad she was such a basket case -- panicking and giving up in the tide water challenge after only 6 minutes while the other seven easily lasted over an hour!

At the tribal council Janu fumbled through the early half of the meeting. But after a little "encouragement" by Jeff, she finally admitted she'd had enough and wanted off. How much of that was set up? It must have been obvious when they were filming that Stephenie was something special ... made for prime time TV in the mold of Amber and Rob . . .

How's That Sugar High, Coby? Donuts Do In Survivor

Posted by Fara Kearnes at 9:54 PM | | Comments ( 0 )

In a move that would make Homer Simpson proud, "Survivor" player Coby Archa came down from a perch and paid a heavy price for a sugar fix. A donut! Two donut! Yummie! Can I hear $1 million dollars bid -- for a glazed donut!

The day before, favorite Stephanie was moved to tears when she found out she could go play with the others. Team Ulong was dissolved and she went over to the other camp to continue the game. The newest Koror team members enjoyed hanging with the group, learning to fish from local Palau natives, and watching Tom get shitfaced and floored on a little rum.

The Koror tribe were then given the first Palau Individual Immunity Challenge - to stand on a perch in the water endurance test. After the first hour, host Jeff Probst made things interesting when he brought out four donuts and offered them to who ever would give up first. Zing! That would be whiny loser Coby.

Stephenie: Survivor's Outstanding One-Woman Tribe

Posted by Fara Kearnes at 4:24 PM | | Comments ( 0 )

Ulong Tribe: Stephanie & Bobby JonNow an Army of One: Tribe Ulong. It's been a lopsided show this season, as Stephenie and her Ulong tribe member Bobby Jon entered Thursday's (April 7) episode having made it through an impressive 7 straight tribal councils without any individual immunity on "Survivor: Palau." Then, they found themselves wondering which would be eliminated -- and how.

Bad luck, being one step or one stroke too late, unable to swallow eggs or build a puzzle -- and just spectacularly bad for the entire series -- Tribe Ulong's numbers has been dwindling fast. They are possible a contender for the Worst Tribe Ever Award.

Holy Snot Rockets, Bobby Jon! Steph's all alone now! And she continues to win fans while showing she is the true survivor., In fact, if you've been thinking all along that alpha femme Stephenie might be the best female "Survivor" contestant ever, you're probably right. And Steph is the best part of Palau right now because the other team is sooooo incredibly boring, except of course, when the gay guy starts getting teary about being picked on in school way back in the day. Thank God there's an Amazon around to watch.

Bobby JonThe reward challenge last night, was the usual gross food-eating contest, and this installment's delicacy, balut, was fertilized but not fully incubated duck eggs. Beyond gross. You knew Tom the NYC firefighter wasn't going to lose to Bobby Jon. The shark slayer slammed down those icky half-formed ducklings with crunchy pointy beaks while holding a steely glare in his eyes, then spit a swing of victorious prized Listerine on the ground. Take that, Ulong!

Since there were only two at tribal council, there was no voting, only a fire-making challenge. I was sure Bobby Jon would win this one since Steph repeatedly said she was not that confident about her firemaking abilities. Somehow, the ancient cavewoman reincarnate came through her soul and she stoked that fire to light the torch. Even Bobby J couldn't believe it.

"Bobby Jon, the tribe definitely did not speak tonight, nevertheless, it's time for you to go," host Jeff Probst announced. And just like that, Ulong is a one-woman tribe. Pfft, the other team doesn't stand a chance. Can't wait for next week.

Survivor winner tries to Outwit, Outplay, Outlast the Feds

Posted by Fara Kearnes at 3:48 PM | | Comments ( 0 )

"Survivor" champ Richard Hatch, who didn't pay taxes on his million-dollar jackpot, reneged on a deal with the feds to plead guilty yesterday.

Now the feds are vowing to pursue "all possible charges" against him. And his former Survivor nemesis, Susan Hawk, is thrilled at the thought.

"He still thinks he's beyond everybody and everything," she said. "Now he's going to be behind bars." Wow, what delightful news for Susan. She was the loser who managed to scream her way off the show over the unwelcome penis to bum touch she got from Richard when he was nude running on the boards. Sue said she was so upset over it that it interfered with her game play. And she quit.

She later called Richard a snake and admitted she has prayed to God to strike him. "I'm not beyond vengeance. But I thought it would take years. I've got a feeling I've got some fans up there in the IRS. Isn't real life so much funnier than TV?"

DOT workers survive "Survivor: Vanuatu"

Posted by at 9:07 PM |

CBS's "Survivor: Vanuatu - Islands of Fire" came down to two highway workers, but only Chris Daugherty was able to drive home with the $1 million prize and a new car.

Daugherty, 33, outplayed, outlasted and outwitted Twila Tanner, 41, in the 39-day contest. Daugherty received five of the seven-person jury's votes. He lives in South Vienna, Ohio, works for the Ohio Department of Transportation (DOT). Tanner works for the Missouri Department of Transportation (DOT).

, Toward the end of the game, Tanner pledged an alliance allegiance to Ami Cusack and Leann Slaby by "swearing on her son's life" but later backed out, infuriating some survivors.

The final tribal council was tearful with players expressing hurt feelings over lies told and friendships broken throughout the game.

This ninth edition of "Survivor" has been the most watched reality show currently airing, beating competitors such as "The Apprentice" and "The Amazing Race," according to Nielsen Media Research.

For the 10th season: There will be 20 castaways (the most ever) and they are headed to Palau, an island nation located in the Pacific. Host Jeff Probst promised "everything the survivors have come to expect will be wiped out in the first 10 minutes."
