The realistically-sized-and-gorgeous ‘American Idol’ winner has signed a contract to promote her favourite flavour of Vitamin Water, but bosses at Glaceau (who make the drink) feel she needs to ditch some pounds before she appears in their ads.

‘American Idol’ winner Taylor Hicks has put pen to paper and signed the record contract which came along with the smash hit TV show.
The grey-haired soul singer has inked a deal with Clive Davis and 19 Recordings Limited - the label created by Simon Fuller, the man behind ‘Idol‘.
Taylor’s first release will be a double A side single of ‘Do I Make You Proud?’, which he performed on the show’s final, and ‘Takin’ It To The Streets’, a Doobie Brothers cover. It will hit stores on June 13th.

Taylor Hicks screamed as he claimed the recording contract and the title of American Idol after his win last night over the Katharine McPhee in a finale that included surprise appearances by Prince and Mary J. Blige. After his victory, Hicks told FOX news: "It's an exhilarating feeling. I am flabbergasted. I can't believe I'm the next American Idol." He admitted that when his name was called he had to tell himself: "Don't fall to the floor. Don't let your knees buckle."

"You have just won 'American Idol,'" Simon Cowell told Taylor Hicks last night after he finished his third and final song in his competition against rival Katharine McPhee. Well, we'll find out tonight if the voters agree with Simon. If anything is to stop Taylor's quest for the title - it might be the memory of that awful purple velvet smoking jacket he wore. Katherine looked and sang great as always and it's a safe bet to say that both finalists will do well in their careers after "American Idol" - no matter who wins.

This season's most popular "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry did an Elvis and left the building as he was voted off Wednesday night in a shocking upset.
Contestants sang Elvis Presley classics two songs each in Tuesday night's program. Daughtry's cover of The King's "Suspicious Minds" drew rave reviews from judges - including Paula Abdul who predicted, "See you in the finals."
Daughtry who many thought was a favorite to win the competition was visibly shocked at the end when host Ryan Seacrest announced that he'd be heading home.
"Surprised?" Host Ryan Seacrest asked an unsmiling Daughtry. "Yes," the 26-year-old rocker replied, despite being drowned out by screams of "Nooooooooo!"
While the shocked audience boo'd, the remaining "Idols" - Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin - were in total disbelief. Judge Simon Cowell looked dazed and pained, as if he realized his show could take a hit in the ratings for the finale without Chris competing for the top prize. Sitting next to him, Paula wept as usual.

American Idol hottie Ace Young may have been voted off the show a tad too early but his star is rising nonetheless.
Though he'd rather be known for his singing, he's attracted the attention of Playgirl magazine which has offered the stud $100,000 to take it all off for a photo shoot.
In Touch Weekly reported that, according to an insider, the strip-for-cash offer came just a few days after the popular contestant was voted off the showl.
Since Ace (real name is Brett Asa Young) is still under contract with "American Idol", he had to turn it down due to a strict "morals clause". But the contract expires after the Idols Live 2006 Summer Tour, so perhaps his fans will get to see the 25-year-old in the buff as soon as this fall.

The cheerleader turned Sonic drive-in roller-skatin' waitress from Albermarle, North Carolina, has the good looks, southern charm, and the trailer park moxie to knock white trash queen Britney Spears off her pedestal.
Alas, if only she could sing it would negate the fact that the former Miss Stanly County is permanently stuck on stupid. After her performance Tuesday of the too-often sung "Unchained Melody," Simon Cowell told her she was "bland" and "robotic" - which in two words sums up her lackluster performances this season.
And WTF is with Paula Abdul? She's gone completely mental but I'm looking at her in a new light. When she jumped up and told Simon to shut it I laughed so hard I snorted tequila Dr. Pepper outta my nose. And not in a good way. It hurt a lot.
