Snoop Dogg Joins Nation of Islam

Snoop Dogg has surprised his fans by revealing he has joined the Nation of Islam. The rapper joined Doug E. Fresh and others to participate in the Nation of Islam's Saviors' Day convention over the weekend in Chicago.

The rap star told reporters he had joined the movement because he was "doing what's right and representing what's right".

50 Cent Ready to Quit Rapping [After] 'Before I Self Destruct'

50 cent 50 Cent is dropping hints that he's done with rap. Unless, he changes his mind and decides he's not done with rap. He explains why the next album could be his last. "It could very well be my last studio album if it doesn't make sense for me to continue and actually do it."

'Before I Self Destruct' is set to drop March 24. But the G-Unit star might stay, he says, because he'll be at the top of the game while other rappers are getting old and lazy.

Coldplay and Lil Wayne Were Big Winners At Grammys

You just knew Lil Wayne was going to walk away with a load of awards at the Grammys last night after his phenomenal year. The bigger surprise was when Led Zeppelin's frontman and rock legend Robert Plant was showered with 5 awards, including record and album of the year, for his collaboration with country bluegrass star Alison Krauss on "Raising Sand."

Lil Wayne had eight nominations but had to settle for three awards, including best rap album for his "Tha Carter III."

Chris Brown Officially a Guest of LAPD After Assaulting Rihanna

chris and rihanna Chris Brown was booked into the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Rhianna. Neither he or Rihanna showed up at last night's Grammys even though both were nominated as well as scheduled to perform.

Brown turned himself in early Sunday evening after the two attended the 2009 Pre-Grammy Gala & Salute on Saturday when the incident happened. He was charged with one count felony criminal threats.

Jessica Simpson: The Meltdown in Michigan

jessica It was two years when Jessica Simpson had a major meltdown on stage during the Kennedy Center Honors, and whatever live performance jitters she had then are still an issue for her. She had another "off night" again! She was onstage in Grand Rapids Thursday night in front of a crowd of 8,000 when she paused for a water break while singing "With You" while the backup singers took over.

From then on, the 38-minute set was a train wreck. According to reports, she stopped during "Pray Out Loud" and told the band to start over, she forgot the words to "Come on Over", and during “These Boots Were Made for Walking" she stopped singing to complain she couldn't hear her earpiece.

Court Puts the Hurt on Boy George: Going to Jail for 15 Months

Boy George has been given 15 months behind bars for falsely imprisoning a mail escort in 2007 by chaining him to a wall in his London flat, and then beating him.

At his sentencing in east London, Judge David Radford called the singer "callous" and said he was guilty of "gratuitous violence" and "degrading" premeditated actions, adding that he had traumatized his victim.

lil kim Rapper Lil Kim was a Big part of the late Notorious B.I.G.'s life but she ain't happy with ~~not being cast in the movie~~ the way she's portrayed in the biopic about him. She has issued a hissy fit statement to the AP about Biggie Small's 'Notorious':

"The film studio and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a 'character' to create a more interesting story line instead of a person with talent, self-respect and who was able to achieve her own career success through hard work."

beyonce Beyonce Knowles has created a hip hop beef with Janet Jackson - by suggesting that the Jackson clan is lower class. Beyonce allegedly said: “I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like The Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.”

It's on! Janet Jackson, who barely knows Beyonce, is going to support her family to the fullest and confront the former Destiny's child singer about the slam.

BBC Pulls Paul McCartney's Michael Jackson Impersonation

The BBC was shocked - Shocked! - when Sir Paul McCartney did an impromptu "trans-racial" impersonation of Michael Jackson on the air. McCartney is said to have talked in a high-pitched Jackson-style voice when asked about the ~~once-black-man turned middled-aged white-woman~~ singer, which the usually insensitive and over-the-top BBC decided was too outrageous, even by ~~non-existent~~ British standards.

A BBC source told the Daily Mail: "McCartney started to reply in this high-pitched Jacko voice, and apparently it was very funny. But the BBC - deeply nervous, perhaps because of the Jonathan Ross-Russell Brand affair - has declined to broadcast the interview."

U2 Promises We'll See "No Line On The Horizon" in March

bono It's been 5 long years since U2 released their last album but the dry spell is almost over. The Irish rockers have named their new album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ and have scheduled March 2, 2009, as its drop date.

The band (Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr.) pushed back the release date from November to March to make it right, says the Irish Independent. They wanted it to be “our best album ever… or what’s the point?”
