'Iron Man' Robert Downey Jr.is going to put a new spin on the legendary character of Sherlock Holmes. He's going for "bad-ass". In the new Guy Ritchie film about the Victorian detective, the actor has promised that Ritchie has a high-octane approach planned for the character.
"I got to spend some time with Guy and I love his take on it," he told the Sun ewspaper. "We're both martial arts enthusiasts and in the original stories of Sherlock Holmes, he's kind of a bad-ass and a bare-knuckle boxer and studies the rare, fictional martial art of baritsu."

Aptly titled "Disaster Movie," the Vanessa Minnillo, Carmen Electra, and Kim Kardashian bomb pokes fun at pop culture, movie trailers, and public figures. But to include the obvious - like trying to be funny, entertaining, and worthy of a $9 theater ticket.
Featuring lame jokes, gross-outs, and hot women, 'Disaster Movie' is aimed at an audience of 14-year-old boys only. How bad is it as a movie? It's a bomb at the box office and is gaining cred as The Worst. Movie. Ever. Made.

‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ is going to do a disappearing act and vanish from its scheduled November release. It won't see the big screen until July of next summer. There's a lot of speculation as to what is behind the eight month delay.
The Hollywood Reporter thinks it's because the studio doesn't want the film to compete with the November DVD release of 'The Dark Knight', while the studio is looking at the numbers and sees more mega-buck$ can be made from a summer release. [coughThe Dark Knightcough]

Angelina Jolie is close to a deal to play the title character in "Edwin A. Salt" about a fictional CIA officer who's accused by a defector of belonging to a Russian sleeper cell and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence.
Tom Cruise had been tapped to star in the film but he demanded $20 million for the role unexpectedly bowed out. Other actors were also looked at but Columbia Pictures execs see no problem with switching the lead of the espionage thriller to be played by Angelina.

Shia La Beouf's left hand was crushed in that car accident he was involved in a week ago and producers have decided to write the serious injury into the script of his film, Transformers 2, which is currently on hold until Shia recovers enough to return to work.
The star, 22, still runs the risk of infection and other complications after enduring a four-hour surgery, his lawyer said Friday.

The teen vampire tale "T.i.ight" won't hit the big screen until December, but fans of the book series were in a frenzy to see the cast at Comic Con. Hundreds camped overnight outside the San Diego Convention Center for a chance to see the first previews and get a glimpse of Robert Pattinson who plays Edward, the hunky neck biter who falls for a human chick.
"You don't understand it until you've read it," Syena Sarrafpour, 17, told the AP. "The cast of amazing people — they're hot — obviously adds to the excitement."

Seth Rogen does need much acting skill for his new stoner movie "Pineapple Express" - he'll just fall back on his old self from his pot smoking days of youth. "I smoked a lot of weed growing up and that was kind of one of the funny things about this movie in that we had never really seen a movie that dealt with our kind of everyday weed experience," Seth says.
In "Pineapple Express," (named for a type of marijuana), Rogen plays Dale Denton, a process server who has to go on the run with his dealer (James Franco) when he witnesses a murder committed by other dealers.

Tom Cruise is preparing to sing an encore to "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" two decades after his wingman Goose died. According to reports, he was reportedly approached to star in a sequel to the 1986 hit movie 'Top Gun'.
The story line? The 46-year-old would reprise his role as cocky fighter-pilot Maverick, some years later. A source tells The Sun, "The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot."

Christian Bale is fabulous as the hero Bruce Wayne/Batman, but the movie belongs to its freaky dark force the Joker, played by Ledger, who portrays dementia and villainy like it's never been done before.
