Actress Rooney Mara, who plays the lead character in new movie Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, had to drastically change her lifestyle and appearance for this role.
The actress has confessed how director David Fincher told her she has to change everything about herself in order to become a sadistic computer hacker in the film, and that included smoking, piercings and eyebrows shaved, among others…
“David Fincher told the casting director to let me know before I went down the long road of auditioning for the role that if I were to get the part that I would have to become a smoker and have to go off and be among myself for a year,” revealed Rooney. “I would have to be butt naked, do these horrible rape scenes and ride a motorcycle. It was a lot to take in. Then I had to get piercings, cut my hair and get my eyebrows shaved.”
