According to a new report from the Toronto Sun newspaper, TV show Glee (which focuses on the high school glee club New Directions competing on the show choir competition circuit, while its members deal with relationships, sexuality and social issues) could face cancellation after the premiere of its latest season dropped 32% from last year’s opener.
Ratings have continued to fall among the series’ 18-49 demographic, while Glee song downloads are obviously reduced this season. Even Glee: The 3D Concert Movie took in a notably flat $11.9 million since opening August 14.
It is believed that Glee decreased its audience because of an uneven Season 2 that seemed to sacrifice plot and character for the sake of guest stars.
