According to the latest reports, Hollywood couple Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have called it quits. The two were rumoured of having troubles in their relationship when the actress didn’t attend the Cannes film festival in France last month for Sean’s film Tree of Life.
Actually, insiders say she’s focused on her new film The Avengers in New Mexico, where she’s reprising her role as Black Widow from Iron Man 2.
Although a source confirmed to People magazine they have split, the reasons behind their separation are yet unknown.
26-year-old Scarlett and the 50-year-old actor started their romance in February, shortly after the actress split from husband Ryan Reynolds, and in April it was believed they were already moving in together.
Scarlett and Sean started a friendship when she was considering flying to Haiti to help people affected by the two earthquakes in January 2010. “Scarlett first reached out to Sean when she was planning to visit Haiti with Oxfam,” a source said. “She knew Sean was living there in a tent and turned to him for advice.”
Scarlett didn’t manage to make the trip after all, however the two started dating and made their first public appearance together at the wedding of Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth in March. Afterwards they were seen together at a number of public engagements, including a White House Correspondents’ Dinner party in Washington D.C. in April.
