Actress Adrianne Palicki — better known to American audience for her role in the drama series Friday Night Lights — apparently beat Mad Men star Christina Hendricks for the role of Wonder Woman!
The 27-year-old star has been chosen to play the sought-after role that Lynda Carter made famous in the Seventies for a new version of the show. The new Wonder Woman series will be written by writer and producer David E. Kelley, who brought Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope and Boston Legal to the screen.
The plot is described as “a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.”
