25-year-old singer Lily Allen, who was six months pregnant with a baby boy, was rushed to hospital last week because she complained of stomach pains. Over the weekend the doctors did their best in trying to save her unborn child, but they didn’t succeed.
“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,” her rep said. “The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made”.
This is the second time the British star loses a child following a miscarriage. Previously it was with former partner Ed Simmons back in 2007. Speaking last year about her first miscarriage, Lily confessed it was the “worst time of her life” because she repressed a lot of her emotions. “I didn’t even start beginning to deal with it until the baby’s due date. Then it hit me like a house collapsing,” she said at that time.
