According to reports, former Lost star Josh Holloway is set to star in the new Mission Impossible movie and this would be the first major motion-picture role for him.
The hunky actor has been cast as a member of the Impossible Mission Force in Mission: Impossible IV, where he will star alongside Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner, among others. The film is to be directed by Brad Bird and is scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2011.
Holloway also admitted last year that he struggles to deal with his status as a Hollywood sex symbol. “The whole sex symbol thing is really strange. I wouldn’t wish it on anybody,” he said. “I appreciate the opportunity to work, the cash it gives you, and other things it provides are wonderful. But the celebrity thing… I don’t like attention. Like anybody, it’s impossible not to feel self-conscious if someone’s looking at you all the time, everywhere you go. If someone approaches me and asks for a picture and I so no, then I’ll feel like an ass. But if I say OK, I’ll often end up doing another picture and another. Then my wife gets upset and we have a fight and that’s not good either.”
