Just hours after Ellen DeGeneres announced she quitted from her position as Idol’s newest judge, actress/singer Jennifer Lopez has reportedly closed a deal to become a permanent judge on American Idol’s season 10.
According to People magazine, the mother of twins Max and Emme will join judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the panel. She previously served as a guest mentor to contestants in 2007.
“It’s true,” a source said. “She’s excited about it.” Lopez’s longtime manager, Benny Medina, reportedly orchestrated the deal.
Jennifer was first linked to Idol in July last year when it was rumored she’d be replacing Paula Abdul.
