Actress Katie Holmes is heading to the White House! Fictionally. The former Dawson’s Creek star has signed on to play former US First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
The actress will join Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper and British actor Tom Wilkinson in an upcoming eight-hour miniseries about the Kennedy dynasty on The History Channel.
Kinnear will play President John F. Kennedy. Pepper will play Bobby Kennedy, who was attorney general during JFK’s brief reign, and Wilkinson will star as the two-fisted patriarch of the Kennedy clan, father Joe.
The series, titled The Kennedys, will explore the personal drama between John and Bobby’s tumultuous relationship with their former rum runner father when the series airs in 2011.
