Even if he dropped out of University for acting, Jake Gyllenhaal wants to finish his degree.
Jake studied Eastern religions and philosophy at Columbia University for two years, until 2000.
“I dropped out of Columbia University in 2000 after two years of studying Eastern religions and philosophy to concentrate on acting,” he said. “But I have always wanted to finish my degree.”
Jake recently admitted that he spent time in prison to prepare for his role in Brothers.
“I came across this incredible writing program for kids that are spending time in juvenile halls. 14-18 year-olds participate in this writing program and that really changed my … perspective on the prison system and the people inside it.
“I have since been back many times to work on this writing program and with these kids.
“It’s so life changing and extraordinary.”
