Even if she's very successful as a designer, her collection, The Row, having a great impact among the buyers and among other designers as well, Ashley 's dreaming about a return on her acting roots.
“The customer who buys the clothes almost never knows we’re involved,” Ashley said.
This seems to be the store owners' opinion too. “I don’t think anybody really cares that it’s Mary-Kate and Ashley’s collection,” Julie Gilhart of Barneys New York said. “They’re buying it because they like it.”
"(In the fashion world) everyone is just really looking out for themselves. I don't know if I'll be designing this collection forever. A couple of years from now, I'm sure I'll want to do something else, and I'm not going to shy away from that. What if I just want to be an artist, or if I want to go back to acting? Which is not in the cards, but what if I wanted to do that?" Ahley said.
