We have already been teased about Vanessa Hudgens being totally cool with going nude for a movie role, but it looks like it might actually happen, and soon. The star of Disney's High School Musical series will be taking on a new, much different film role. T.i. time, the actress will be starring as a hooker in the upcoming film, Sucker Punch.
Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.
Director Zack Snyder described the fantasy world as ''Alice in Wonderland' with machine guns,' blending such elements as dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels. Amanda Seyfried will play Babydoll, the institutionalized girl, and Vanessa will star as one of Amanda's fellow inmates named Blondie.
"I'm excited I get to be sexy," she recently told Access Hollywood of the role. "It's a dream of mine to do an action film. I finally get to be a strong sexy woman. It's going to be great," she continued. "I can't wait to shoot some guns!"
Sucker Punch starts production this fall and aims for an October 2010 release date. It also stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung.
