The producer of Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle’s new album, Simon Cowell, told the media that it will be a real surprise, nothing of what people expect.
"We're not going to throw out some souvenir album of show tunes which everyone expect[s]," Cowell, who judged the Scottish singing sensation on the reality series, said. "We went through about 350 to 400 songs to choose from. She was blown away by some of the song choices... She's going to surprise a lot of people with this record."
In the weeks since coming in second to all-male dance troupe Diversity on the show's May 30 finale, Boyle, 48, was hospitalized for exhaustion at a London clinic, but show insiders insist she's recovering well and focused on the new album, set for a fall release.
"She needs to get away from everyone, get away from the show, from the media, the public, and just have a bit of down time to herself," Talent judge Piers Morgan said. Cowell agrees, telling the media that Boyle is taking things slow in the studio as she adjusts to fame.
"You got to understand this lady had lived alone with a cat for years and years and years and she was really, literally, the most famous person on the planet," he says.
