Hilary Duff to Star on 'Gossip Girl'

hilary-duff.jpgIt's official: singer/actress Hilary Duff will join the cast of Gossip Girl for a multi-episode guest arc - as a new roommate for one of the favorite characters and a love interest for another!

Duff, 21, will play a famous movie star named Olivia Burke who enrolls at New York University – where Blair ( Leighton Meester), Dan ( Penn Badgley) and Vanessa ( Jessica Szohr) were also accepted – in search of a traditional, out-of-the-spotlight college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa and will be the new love interest for Dan, according to E!.

Hilary will first appear on the hit CW show during this season's fourth episode, scheduled to air October 5.
