Fans of Lost know Dominic Monaghan as the much loved Charlie Pace, who drowned in the season three finale. But now it seems that he has returned to the land of the living… however, not to the set of Lost. Instead, the actor is returning to ABC as the latest addition to Flash Forward, a new hour long drama premiering this fall, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Speculation that Monaghan might be returning to ABC first began when an "ABC House" promo featuring the former Lost actor surfaced. Then the network run a series of promos for its new season that feature a bunch of its stars living together in one house.
In one of them, several stars play foosball in the yard: Patrick Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy, Ed O'Neill of Modern Family, Courteney Cox of Cougar Town and Dominic Monaghan. In the clip, Dempsey tells Dominic, "You're so dead," to which the star responds, "Actually, I was," hinting that he could be making a Lost return.
"There is a lot of speculation out there right now, but we're not confirming any casting at this point," an ABC spokesperson said.
Flash Forward is based on the novel by Robert J. Sawyer, which follows what happens after a global event causes a 2 minutes and 17 seconds blackout for everyone on Earth and the subsequent tragedies and visions of the future which occur. Alongside supposedly Monaghan will be Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love), John Cho (Harold & Kumar), and Jack Davenport (the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy).
