According to Entertainment Weekly reports, Drea de Matteo is moving to Wisteria Lane. ABC’s hit drama Desperate Housewives has brought on the Sons of Anarchy star to play an Edie like role in their upcoming sixth season. Now that Nicollette Sheridan's character is long gone, they needed to bring in some drama and Drea promises to bring the goods.
The actress, who won an Emmy for her work as Crazy Horse manager Adriana on The Sopranos, has inked a deal to appear as a series regular on the award-winning ABC series. Taking a cue from her old role on the HBO series, Drea will play the matriarch of a new Italian family who just moved to the neighborhood and whose husband is a landscape designer.
De Matteo recently got engaged to country singer Shooter Jennings, with whom she has an 18-month-old daughter, Alabama.
