After fifteen years in the acting industry, 36-year-old actress Cameron Diaz was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. The actress attributed her successful career to "the eternal love [her parents] shared."
"It was what has given me the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life and it is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honored today with this star on the Walk of Fame," Diaz said.
Supporting her during the event which took place at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the historic Egyptian Theatre were her Vanilla Sky co-star Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes, alongside members of the actress’ family. Hundreds of Cameron's fans were also in attendance.
The former model, who played in the comedy smashes Shrek and There’s Something About Mary and action flicks Charlie’s Angels 1 & 2, will return to the silver screen Friday for the premiere of My Sister's Keeper, in which she plays a mother of two girls, including a cancer patient.
