A legend will return this fall. It has been four years since Barbra Streisand's last studio album, Guilty Pleasures. And now she has joined forces with Canadian jazz singer-pianist Diana Krall on her new album, Love Is the Answer. The album is set for release on September 29, her record label said on Monday.
"Love Is the Answer presents the artist as a cabaret and jazz singer of emotional clarity, depth and maturity," Columbia Records said in a statement.
On the new album, Streisand works for the first time with Grammy-winning Krall and her quartet of guitar, bass, and drums "who brought a refined and sensual poignancy to the album's spare and subtle accompaniments," according to Streisand's label.
In addition to Krall, Barbra also collaborated with songwriter/Grammy-winning arranger Johnny Mandel, whom she worked with on her 1993 Back to Broadway album.
Streisand is one of the top 10 pop artists of all time. She has earned 10 Grammy Awards including Lifetime Achievement and Grammy Legend citations. Her albums have topped the charts eight times and overall she has 29 top 10 albums to her credit. She also has recorded five #1 pop singles and 13 that reached the top 10.
