Although Shia LaBeouf says his mom is the sexiest woman he knows, he did once have a little crush on pop star Rihanna.
Back in the summer of 2007, rumors had been circulating that the two were dating after they were spotted eating together in Beverly Hills. Nearly two years after the reported romance took place, the Transformers star has admitted that the pair was actually on a date around that time, but it just didn't work out for them.
A mutual stylist friend put the two in touch, while LaBeouf was in production for Indiana Jones. "[I was] filming a sword fight when I got the message. I said, 'Can this be my life?'" Shia told Playboy (for the magazine's June issue). The two set up a dinner date over text message, but they never developed much of a relationship. "It never got beyond one date," he added. "The spark wasn't there. We weren't passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends."
After clearing up the rumors, he did admit that any woman he meets and dates will have to live up to his mom, whom he considers the kind of woman he'd date if she weren't his mom. "She's an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman," he said in the same interview. "If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren't my mother, as sick as that sounds."
