Less than a month after Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn, he called off the divorce for a second time. A rep for the Milk actor said the papers, which Penn filed on Friday, April 24 in Marin County, California, citing "irreconcilable differences," have been "dismissed and taken out of the system."
Penn told the New York Daily News that the filing was "an arrogant mistake."
The couple have had an on-off relationship. They started divorce proceedings in December 2007 but got back together again a few months later and withdrew the petition. They have two children, aged 18 and 15.
In February they attended the Academy Awards together, but the 48-year-old actor neglected to thank his wife after winning Best Actor Oscar for his role in the drama Milk.
