According to The Guardian, Amy Winehouse has won a high court order banning the paparazzi from pursuing her. Similar protection was given to Lily Allen in March.
A source close to the singer's management team said that the singer sought the injunction to ban photographers (who constantly set up camp in front of her home) if they follow her or approach her within 100 meters of her home.
Winehouse's injunction mentions Big Pictures but also includes a ban on "persons unknown" pursuing her. This means any photographer who stalks the singer or snaps pictures within 100 metres of her London home could be prosecuted. She even posted a sign on her door to let potential paps know they’re breaking the law if they come too close.
Sources say the 25-year-old Grammy-winning singer requested this order because she fears for her safety. "Every time she got in her car she was chased or jostled, and it has become unsafe not just for her, but the people around her. We don't have a problem with the press doing their job but it has become mayhem a couple of times and Amy had to do something,” a source close to the singer told The Guardian.
