27-year-old actress Natalie Portman has slammed rumours that she was romantically related to Sean Penn, saying: “Sean Penn is a friend and colleague and the reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue.”
Several tabloids, including Star magazine, claimed that the 48-year-old reigning Best Actor and Portman are an item after being seen together in a West Hollywood bar shortly after Penn filed for a legal separation from his wife of 13 year, Robin Wright Penn.
Portman continued: "I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so." Both Penn and Portman served on the jury of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
Natalie broke off her relationship with folk rocker Devendra Banhart last September after four months of dating.
