Actor Mel Gibson, and his girlfriend, Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva, are expecting a baby. T.i. comes only six weeks after his wife of 28 years filed for divorce. Gibson confirmed that 39-year-old Grigorieva is pregnant on Monday night's airing of NBC's Tonight show with Jay Leno.
"This is true, we're having a child," Gibson said. "I guess I’m 'Octo-Mel,'" the actor added, as he already has seven kids with his ex-wife Robyn.
Robyn filed for divorce six weeks ago amidst speculation that Grigorieva, a singer on Gibson's record label, was expecting a child. But they’ve already been separated for over three years and Gibson said his separation from Robyn had nothing to do with Grigorieva, whom he didn't meet until 2008. The pair made their first public appearance together at the Los Angeles X-Men: Wolverine premiere in late April.
When asked by Leno if they would wed, Gibson said: "Why would you get married twice?"
According to reports, Grigorieva is in her second trimester and is due this fall. She already has a son, Alexander, with her ex, former Bond star Timothy Dalton.
