According to Access Hollywood, Interscope Records signed 15 year-old singer-songwriter Taylor Momsen, star of the CW’s teen popular television series Gossip Girl. Momsen and her rock band, The Pretty Reckless, are scheduled to release their full length debut album this fall.
"Taylor has an incredible presence and when she decided to make Interscope her musical home we were thrilled," said Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records.
Momsen, who stars as the fashion-forward Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, shares album writer credits with Toby Gad ( Fergie, Beyonce, The Veronicas), James Michael ( Alanis Morissette, Motley Crue) and Kato Khandwala (Paramore, Morningwood). In addition to co-writing all the songs, Momsen fronts the band, singing lead vocals.
"I'm so excited to be among the talented and respected artists signed to Interscope Records," Taylor said in a statement. "Partnering with Jimmy Iovine is an honor."
She also signed to powerhouse management company, DAS Communications, Ltd who broke The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, The Fugees and John Legend. "Rock singer/songwriters like Taylor don't come around very often. Taylor is an artist with a genuine voice and a unique point of view. DAS is proud to add her to the list of superstar artists that have been managed by our company," says David Sonenberg, President of DAS Communications.
Taylor’s band is currently out on the road opening up for The Veronicas, whose tour kicked off May 9 in Nashville, Tenn. The 24-date tour wraps up June 30 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
