Let the Twilight mania continue! They haven't even released a second movie yet, but already there's talk of a fourth.
Over the past few days, rumors have flown about whether a film version of Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final book in the Stephenie Meyer's teen vampire series, is already in some stage of pre-production. According to TheWrap.com, the movie has gotten an early green light.
Although Summit Entertainment rep Paul Pflug refused to confirm the report, saying, "Summit has no comment on that rumor at this time," a source tells the industry Web site that Breaking Dawn is in the works and production will start in the late spring of 2010.
However, according to screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who is currently writing the script for the third movie, Eclipse, a fourth Twilight film is not a go - at least, not just yet. "The most I've heard from Summit is 're-read it and start thinking about it,'" she told Entertainment Weekly.
Other sources say author Stephenie Meyer is wondering how the book can possibly be adapted for the target tween audience, considering its more mature subject matter.
So, fans of the series will have to take comfort in getting at least the first three Twilight films and wait to see what happens with Breaking Dawn.
