Everybody knows that former teen couple Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift have broken up last year, but while the lead singer of the Jonas Brothers decided to keep silent after the painful split, the country singer on the other hand is not afraid to expose her painful past through a song - actually, she enjoys it.
In November, Swift claimed that Joe had dumped her over the phone so that he could date Push actress and star of the Jonas Brothers' video Lovebug, Camilla Belle. "They've been together since we broke up. That's why we broke up - because he met her," she told OK! at the time.
And now, the 19-year-old singer told Seventeen magazine that she doesn’t regret exposing her break-up with Joe Jonas, saying she simply writes what she knows. "Writing songs about people is the only way I know how to do things," she says in explanation of writing Forever and Always, a track from her album Fearless, about her failed romance with Joe. "I can't wish I hadn't written a song about someone, because if I hadn't, that song wouldn't exist. I just don't find any joy in writing about things I haven't been through," she added.
Taylor also revealed that her favorite things to write about right now are love, break-ups, boys, and feelings. And if her songs can't get her through tough times, she says she has her close friends to run to. "In Nashville, it's Abigail [who's mentioned in Swift's song Fifteen], and Kellie Pickler. In L.A., Selena Gomez is one of my best friends. I'm also really close with Miley [Cyrus], Demi Lovato and Emma Stone."
