According to The Hollywood Reporter, Transformers franchise star Megan Fox has signed up to appear as the lead in a new border thriller from Screen Gems called The Crossing.
Fox will play a woman returning from a Mexican vacation with her husband when they're car-jacked and the man is kidnapped. In order to free him, she has to smuggle a load of heroin across the border.
So, probably the hottie will be devising a plan to turn the table on the kidnappers and rescue her hubby without being caught and spending most of her life in prison.
Screen Gems president, Clint Culpepper, notes that Fox is ideal for the role as it "requires a vulnerability to make you care about her, but a kind of strength to make you believe she can pull off the things she needs to," and "Megan has both a vulnerability about her and an unbelievable strength." And the fact that she looks really good in summer clothing probably helps, too.
Written by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi, the project, which may begin filming in July, is still lacking a director, but that should be remedied soon, as several directors are currently in talks with Screen Gems.
Fox's other upcoming projects include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the Diablo Cody penned supernatural high school tale Jennifer's Body, and Western Jonah Hex for Warner Bros.
