Miley Cyrus was the one hosting the Teen Choice Awards in 2008, but this year, multi-platinum recording artists Jonas Brothers have been announced as the hosts for the 11th annual show, which is set to air Monday, August 10 at 8 PM on FOX.
But Kevin, Joe, and Nick will not only host the ceremony together, they will perform on stage as well. The show celebrates the most popular teen icons in film, television, music, sports, and fashion. So it’s only appropriate that the teen pop-rock band emcee the event.
The first round of nominees for the Teen Choice Awards, in such categories such as Choice Breakout TV Show, Choice Reality/Variety Show, Choice Breakout Artist, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Female Athlete and Choice Hookup, additional performers and presenters will be announced in the next few weeks.
Jonas Brothers' appearance on Teen Choice 2009 comes during the middle of their World Tour 2009, which takes the band across three continents, including three nights at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off June 20, following the release of their highly anticipated Lines, Vines and Trying Times album, set to be released worldwide on June 15.
The three artists, who earned a best new artist Grammy nomination earlier this year, have also a Disney Channel series debuting May 2 in addition to their musical pursuits. They also won the American Music Awards' breakthrough artist honor in 2008.
