Nineteen-year-old Casey Aldridge – boyfriend of Jamie Lynn Spears and father to her 10-month-old daughter, Maddie – was involved in a car accident early Sunday morning, suffering mild brain trauma when the truck he was driving crashed and flipped on a Louisiana highway, ejecting Aldridge and two of his four passengers.
None of them was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and "the fact that three of these guys survived ejection totally defies the odds," trooper Mark Dennis told the Associated Press.
After the accident, Aldridge was taken by ambulance to Riverrun Medical Center in Vidalia, La. for moderate injuries. He was later relocated to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. The other passengers had only minor injuries.
According to TMZ, Aldridge was charged with a misdemeanor count of careless operation of a motor vehicle. Police reportedly had to wait more than four hours after the crash to speak to him, due to his hospitalization, but they had no reason to suspect that alcohol or drug usage was a factor in the accident.
