Australian actor Hugh Jackman is very upset because an incomplete print of the action flick X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is not scheduled for release in the U.S. until May 1, was stolen last Tuesday night and posted illegally on several file-sharing websites.
"It's a serious crime and there's no doubt it's very disappointing — I was heartbroken by it," Jackman told the Associated Press. "Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It's like a Ferrari without a paint job."
As 20th Century Fox is still trying its best to plug all the holes and find the ones behind the leak, Jackman has already started a world tour to promote the film, which delves into the back story of his character, genetic mutant Wolverine, a cross between human and a wolf.
Although the unfinished version of the film was downloaded an estimated 100,000 times and did not have special CGI effects added in and frequently showed actors hanging from wires in front of green screens, the 40-year-old Australian actor predicts fans will still go to see the completed version of the movie when it hits theaters in May.
Earlier this week, Fox News also fired a columnist who wrote a glowing review of the pirated movie. The network condemned his action as "reprehensible".
