It took a few weeks, but Miley Cyrus finally reached the top of the Billboard 200 charts with the soundtrack to Hannah Montana: The Movie. The album, which debuted at #2 four weeks ago and dipped down to #5 before bumping back up to the runner-up slot, finally reached #1 for the first time on Wednesday, becoming the third album from the Disney franchise to accomplish this feat.
The soundtrack to the recent box office champ sold 133,000 copies during the week ended April 19, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Since its release on March 24, the soundtrack has scanned over 554,000 units.
Hannah Montana: the Movie is the first soundtrack to top the Billboard 200 this year. Last year, three did the trick: Juno, Mamma Mia! and Twilight. The first and second volumes of the TV show's soundtracks hit #1 in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
The soundtrack marks the fourth #1 album for the 16-year-old singer/songwriter. She is the youngest ever recording artist with four #1 albums in less than 3 years.
