Former Destiny’s Child star Beyonce Knowles is officially part of a new girl group. She will be lending her voice to the animated pre-school comedy series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! where she will play Shine – lead singer of the girl group Wubb Girlz, the hottest band around.
According to People, the Bootylicious star is going to join Nickelodeon's Emmy Award-winning animated show just for 4 episodes, starting on April 27.
This is the first kids project for the multiple Grammy winner and actress, and she said that recording vocals for the show was "all about fun. It was all about my inner child and me being 5 years old all over again." Along with having a good time, the singer hopes her appearance will musically inspire kids who are watching.
"She's a very sweet young lady," Beyonce said of her character. "Whenever Wubbzy needs a little help or a friend, she's right there with The Wubb Girlz to give him a helping hand. I think Shine is pretty cool." She also identified the animated little girls’ band “with having grown up in Destiny's Child. The Wubb Girlz are all about unity.” The four music-filled episodes will also feature a new original song composed and performed by Knowles titled Sing a Song.
