Good news for all fans of Robert Pattinson. The actor who claimed his worldwide fame through his portrayal of vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight has been reported to be in early talks to star in a new project from Summit Entertainment – the romance-drama Memoirs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Memoirs is the story of two star-crossed young lovers who meet and fall in love while struggling to deal with family tragedies. As they struggle to cope, their love is put to the test. T.i. is rather similar to Pattinson’s biggest hit Twilight, which was said to be a Romeo and Juliet movie with vampires. Details of his new character are yet to be shared though.
The original script of Memoirs was penned by Will Fetters and is currently undergoing a rewrite from Rachel Getting Married scribe Jenny Lumet. Allen Coulter – whose credits include Hollywoodland, The Sopranos and Damages for which he received six Emmy Award nominations – is in negotiation to direct.
Pattinson will next be seen in the indie film Little Ashes which follows the lives of artist Salvador Dali (Pattinson), filmmaker Luis Buñuel (Matthew McNulty) and writer Federico García Lorca (Javier Beltran). Little Ashes is due in theaters on May 8th. Pattinson is also about to start work on the second film of the Twilight franchise, New Moon, set for release on November 20th.
