Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze, 56, who has been battling pancreatic cancer for over a year, is very disappointed by the media reports claiming that he is nearing his end. He is speaking out after the National Enquirer printed a story about his health with the headline “The End”, using a photo of a thin Swayze, taken last week while he was leaving a doctor's office.
"It's amazing to me that the tabloids, such as The National Enquirer, print such negative stories about me and my health when there are so many positive things going on in my life right now," Swayze said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Wednesday, adding that he started a new chemotherapy and is actually responding well to treatment.
Instead of focusing on his illness, Swayze pointed out the positive things in his life these days. The Dirty Dancing legend announced that he has a new friend – “a 12-week-old, Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy named Kumasai,” and he also revealed that he is working on a new book and is excited about the response to his new television series The Beast.
"I hope in the future, the press will think twice about printing inaccuracies and painting an unpleasant picture when I have so much to be thankful for at this time," Swayze also said in the statement.
