It seems Miley Cyrus wants to focus more on her country roots, given her dad Billy Ray’s success. Thus, she is scheduled to perform at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards.
Following her country-toned debut with pal Taylor Swift at this year's Grammys, the teen queen will perform – solo this time – her latest song, The Climb, as featured on the soundtrack for her new film, Hannah Montana: The Movie, People reports. Climbing the Billboard Hot 100 and country charts, the song will easily fit in with the sound of the evening.
In a recent interview to Just Jared, Cyrus talked about her country roots. "In the movie, my character goes back to Nashville," she said. "The soundtrack is all about Nashville, and that's where I'm from, that's my roots. I think that's a lot of the reason I am who I am."
Miley will share the stage with other stars such as Lady Antebellum, Reba McEntire, John Rich, Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson. The show will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and broadcast live at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
