The arrest warrant for actress Lindsay Lohan, issued by a Los Angeles judge last Friday, carrying a $50,000 bail, was cancelled this Monday. The warrant was tied to a pair of 2007 driving under influence (DUI) incidents.
Over the weekend, TMZ reported that the warrant stemmed from her absence from an alcohol-education program in which she had been enrolled for more than a year following her guilty plea to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine, one count of reckless driving and two no-contest pleas to driving with a high blood-alcohol level from the 2007 incidents.
Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, presented Judge Marsha N. Revel with documentation Monday morning that her client had not violated her program. It “was really much ado about nothing," she said after the hearing, adding that the confusion stemmed from the fact that Lindsay switched treatment programs.
Judge Revel decided that the 22-year-old actress has been complying with the terms of her probation but needs to show her treatment program better documentation to avoid future court problems. The judge also noted that Lohan has not failed any drug or alcohol tests.
Lindsay Lohan did not attend Monday's hearing.
