Pop star Britney Spears has been working for months to get back into stage shape and put a new show together. She's ready to go on tour ... but a new problem has come up: ticket sales are in the crapper.
According to insiders, there are still PLENTY of tickets available for the tour's opening date on March 3 in New Orleans.
“Group sales are down considerably,” a source close to the production tells msnbc.com's The Scoop, “and then you’ve got individual tickets that cost as much as $500 apiece. That’s a lot of money to spend on an artist who isn’t a sure bet right now.”
“She’s worked really, really hard to make this good. Granted, there’ve been some hiccups along the way, but she’s going to put on a good show. I just hope there are people there to see it,” says the source. “This is really her last chance.”
Good show, good times, whatever. But Brit's people are delusional if they think they can fill $500 seats in this bad economy.
