Thank god that brain tumor may be the death of Izzy yet! "Grey's Anatomy" cast member James Pickens Jr. says the medical drama will be saying goodbye to popular stars Katherine Heigl (Izzy) and T.R. Knight (George). Pickens (Dr. Webber), told Us Weekly magazine that he wishes Heigl "nothing but the best" in her budding big screen film career while Knight is leaving the fadding show to pursue other "career paths."
"Katherine is ready to move on to the next chapter," says another set source. And TR is "not shy" about telling everyone he wants out of his contract.
Heigl has been wanting out of the TV gig for over a year, ever since she scored two hit films, "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses." She has yet another movie, "The Ugly Truth," coming out.
A source is saying TR is talking with executive producer Shonda Rhimes about leaving, and that the "writers are scrambling to find a believable exit for George, one that would leave the door open for him to come back someday."
Meanwhile, TR has acquired a reputation as a whiner: "He complains to Katherine all the time," a set source say. "The energy on set will be much better when he's gone."
There's been nothing official from the two stars, who are under contract, or the producers that TR will be set free to destroy whatever career he has left, and that Heigl will walk away in order to diva her way into a few more movie parts before fading away as well.
