After his stunning turn as "Ironman," movie goers are sold on the talents of Robert Downey Jr.and are thrilled to hear of his next possible project entitled "The Days Before," a sci-fi tale. And just who would you pick to be his leading lady in this Timur Bekmambetov ("Wanted") flick? It probably wouldn't be Reese Witherspoon.
Nothing has been signed, but the Legally Blonde star along with Downey Jr has been pegged to appear in the time traveling movie in which the world is invaded by aliens who travel backwards to wipe out humanity one day at a time, “yesterday by yesterday”
One man, Downey Jr's character, will try to stay “a yesterday ahead of them” and warn people that the end of the world is coming tomorrow. Over and over.
Awesome concept, and I'll even be willing to give Reese a chance. She's trying to shake off her lightweight image by doing more dramatic work such as "Walk the Line." Her forte, however, remains in comedic genre such as "Four Christmases" with Vince Vaughn.
"Days Before" producer Gianni Nunnari ("The Departed," "300") is developing this project from a script by first time writer, Chad St. John.
Love RDJ, really like Reese, and Timur is a great director. This will be a movie to look forward too.
