It's like Bart Simpson would say, "I didn't think it was physically possible, but this both sucks and blows." How bad is Sunday night's Oscar telecast going to be since they not only nominated a bunch of films nobody has seen, they ignored one of the year's best pictures, 'The Dark Knight,' for a Best Picture nomination?
The producers are resorting to stunt casting by bringing in Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus to make appearances during the show in the hopes that someone will watch this trainwreck. But they are also trying to get T.i.ight's Robert Pattinson to show up to entice viewers to tune in.
Because last year's telecast and craptastic line-up of films set an all-time low for TV viewer ratings, and this year's crop promises to break that record. So they thought bringing in some fresh meat would shake things up and attract a younger audience.
Er, or just any audience.
Efron is rumored to be presenting Best Original Song and may take the stage with his "High School Musical" co-star and real-life girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens. They may join Beyoncé for a musical number.
Other rumors began surfacing on Monday that "Twilight" heartthrob Pattinson will present an award. It could be just a rumor, but if it's true, it'll score a lot of young female fans.
Beyond that it goes to show how out of touch Hollywood is. Miley Cyrus and Disney stars? Nothing brings dignity and class to Hollywood's biggest night of the year like bringing in Hannah Montana and a bunch of tween stars to save the day.
