Morgan Freeman is being sued by the female passenger who was with him when he crashed a car last August. She says he had been drinking, gossipers say he was having an affair with her, and Morgan's wife filed for divorce because of the whole mess.
What else could go wrong for one of the world's best loved actors resulting from the accident that happened on the worst night of his life?
"I have been labeled as the 'other woman' and have been accused of having caused the breakup of his marriage," Demaris Meyer told reporters while standing next to her famed attorney Gloria Allred. "Nothing could be further from the truth."
Meyer, 48, said she met Freeman for the first time at a dinner party the night he drove her Nissan Maxima off a road in rural Mississippi and it flipped three times. Freeman broke an arm and elbow. Meyer suffered broken bones and a head injury she said has led to short-term memory loss.
Her lawsuit in Mississippi federal court claims Freeman, 71, was speeding and had been drinking before she handed him the keys to HER CAR and let him drive. HER CAR.
Meyer admits she attended the party to meet the Oscar-winning star but said he was a "perfect gentleman" who offered to let her stay in a house on his property.
Because of the crash and the allegations of an affair, Freeman's wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee filed for divorce and could walk away with more than $100 million of his money.
