It was two years when Jessica Simpson had a major meltdown on stage during the Kennedy Center Honors, and whatever live performance jitters she had then are still an issue for her. She had another "off night" again! She was onstage in Grand Rapids Thursday night in front of a crowd of 8,000 when she paused for a water break while singing "With You" while the backup singers took over.
From then on, the 38-minute set was a train wreck. According to reports, she stopped during "Pray Out Loud" and told the band to start over, she forgot the words to "Come on Over", and during “These Boots Were Made for Walking" she stopped singing to complain she couldn't hear her earpiece.
Jessica, who was the opening act for Rascal Flatts, tearfully told the crowd that there were times when she feels like walking off the stage, “like tonight.”
At the end of her final song, Jessica thanked her band for "having her back" and left upset.
Her rep told TMZ, "Jessica had an off night. She's a perfectionist and wanted to start some songs over. She always wants to give the best performance for her fans."
That's not saying much - she's no "perfectionist." The Kennedy Center disaster was due to her unprofessionalism. She wasn't prepared to sing the Dolly Parton tribute and forgot the words to "9 to 5". She ran off the stage that time too.
Jessica has had weight problems lately and she's being sued for failing to deliver on a workout DVD so it's been a tough year so far. But it's hard to believe the rumors that the reason she was so upset was that her boyfriend Tony Romo missed his flight to Michigan.
It's time for her to admit that she hasn't got the talent to be a live performer.
