Chris Brown knows he done wrong assaulting his lady love and is trying to win her back. He is showering Rihanna with gifts like, um, an iPod. And an expensive diamond bracelet. But mostly the iPod. Hey, what do you expect? He's 19.
A source told the NY Daily News: “Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday,” an insider tells us. “He’s absolutely trying to get back into her good graces."
"He knows he’s very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is."
The source added: "Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can't be together right now. But it's becoming more and more clear that she can't be without him."
Brown - who is charged with making ‘criminal threats’ and is currently out on $50,000 bail - seems to think a few Sham Wow birthday gifts will keep her from pressing charges can win back her love ... you know, after her face heals and the swelling and bruising go down.
The sad thing is, it will work and Rihanna will probably go back to him even as her family and friends try to tell her that once an abuser is always an abuser.
