'Grey’s Anatomy' star T.R. Knight, who plays intern George O’Malley, has apparently asked producers to write him out once popular but fading medical drama. Who can blame him?
“Have you seen the show lately?” a source said when asked why Knight would want to leave. Not only has TR's character George had very little to do this season - the show has jumped the shark and just plain sucks.
Fans are furious, for example, over the ridiculous storyline of the on-going physical romance between Katherine Heigl’s Izzie and the ghost of her dead boyfriend, Denny, played by Jeffery Dean Morgan.
The source claims TR just wants to be done with Grey's Anatomy after season five ends.
“It’s time to move on,” says the source. “It just feels like this is the right time to go.”
Well, that and the fact that he has seen his co-star Katherine make the successful leap to the big screen. TR would like to try the same path.
“He’s seen what his friend (Heigl) has done with her career — lots of people in the industry said she wouldn’t translate to film and she has. He wants more than what he can get from ‘Grey’s,’” a source told msnbc.com.
