If you think the 4 Judge panel on "American Idol" looks a tad crowded for the new season, it's because it is. It seems producers are deliberately pushing out the often out-of-it Paula Abdul by bringing in a new judge, Kara DioGuardi. But then, Abdul has reasons for wanting to jump anyway.
“Paula has a reality show on MTV and her jewelry line,” says a source close to her. “She’s got no reason to put herself through the stress of the show if she doesn’t want to. She’s all but done; and given her other successes, she has no reason to be afraid about speaking out now.”
Yes, but there's also the issue of the suicide of a stalker fan Paula Goodspeed outside of her home last month. Abdul blames the producers for allowing the woman to audition for the show on thee separate occasions, with full knowledge that she was obsessed with Adbul and had stalked her for years.
Abdul has been doing a lot of talking about the issue this week going on theDavid Letterman and Barbara Walter's shows to tell everyone how dissatisfied she is.
Speaking to Walters on her Sirius Satellite radio show on Monday night, Abdul said of Goodspeed, "She came to the audition. I said, 'This girl is a stalker of mine. Please do not let her in.' I was shaking.
"The producers thought, for entertainment value, it would be funny. Fun for them to cause me stress. It would make good television. If you look at the audition on YouTube, you'll see I couldn't even look up. But it wasn't just once. She showed up again in Las Vegas and she showed up the following year."
Abdul adds, "(Then) Fox broadcasting literally went to my house and gave my address away and showed how easy it is to break in."
When Walters asked why Abdul was still working on the show she would only say, "Well, I'm still under contract."
Ex- A.I. producer Nigel Lythogoe refutes Abdul's claims. "You do not take somebody in that room that you believe is a danger to herself or a danger to Paula," Nigel tells People magazine of Goodspeed. "That would not enter our heads."
Nigel states that he doesn't remember Paula's request to not let Goodspeed audition. "[Goodspeed] had been through an audition process with the producers, an audition process with the executive producers, and we were wheeling her in as a huge fan of Paula Abdul," Lythgoe said. "This is what we knew: She was a great fan, she was a lovely girl. And a great fan of Paula."
"This is three years ago -- I honestly say I can't remember the conversation. If Paula said, that's what she said, I believe her."

she doesnt want off the show. she loves it. what the media Isnt reporting is that paula mentioned in the end of her controversial interview with barbara walters that "despite everything, i am very grateful for the show". meaning... despite everything, she wants to Stay. and they also fail to report that when she is trashing simon, she is just being sarcastic. they take her Jokes and make it sound like she is dead serious!
