It's been rumored all year that Tom Cruise's upcoming Nazi flick is bad, bad, bad. So bad, in fact, that they've re-tooled it but the snickers and comments keep coming - now that a few people have actually SEEN the film. It's set to be released on Dec. 26 since they have no more reasons to delay this bomb any longer.
MSNBC's The Scoop got the scoop from a member of an advanced screening audience who said that people in the theater laughed uncomfortably at what is being marketed as a thriller.
In one scene, Cruise, who plays a hero Nazi who tries to get Hilter assassinated, tries to do something resembling a Hitler salute.
“It’s an unsettling scene but you almost start to laugh. His character is resisting it but you never forget it’s Tom Cruise saying ‘Heil Hitler.’ It’s funny and shocking at the same time,” says the source.
Another source told the Scoop: “The film just isn’t a thriller at all. It’s a bunch of white guys in Nazi uniforms. It’s too bad. And Tom doesn’t speak with a German accent — though they did add a voiceover of him speaking German to the beginning of the film. Still, it’s as if he could say ‘I complete you’ at any time. This is not his Oscar moment.”
This could actually be worth watching just for the comedy!
