Even being paid $75,000 an episode isn't enough to keep Lauren Conrad interested in doing MTV's 'The Hills' for much long. She explains to Extra: "It's coming to a point where I love this show so much, but I'm ready to kind of walk away. I've been doing it for five years now. Five years on TV is a really, really long time."
Because five years at the same job is like, really, really long for a 22-year-old. After all, she's doing a scripted TV gig where all you do is air kiss and make up with Heidi (or not) and ramble on vacuously about fashion!
"It's more difficult when not only everyone knows about your problems, but they make them worse because things escalate and things get twisted," she says of the constant [fake] drama on the show. "It's hard to have an actual friendship be torn apart in the media."
Meanwhile, BFF Whitney Port is getting her own show called 'The City.'
"I'm so proud of her for this next show," she says. "I think in The Hills she never really let them film her personal life. She hasn't really experienced the whole 'put your personal life on TV thing.'"
